I read Wild Embers: Poems of Rebellion, Fire and Dazzler and seemed to remember enjoying it. However I plant this collection a disappointment. Perhaps I have outgrown this kind of poetry (Although I have read other poetry authors recently which I enjoyed more).
This collection felt extremely repetitive to me, I empathise there was a theme just they all felt likewise similar almost like the same words being recycled.
I read Wild Embers: Poems of Rebellion, Burn and Beauty and seemed to remember enjoying it. However I found this collection a thwarting. Perhaps I take outgrown this kind of verse (Although I accept read other poetry authors recently which I enjoyed more).
This collection felt extremely repetitive to me, I sympathise there was a theme but they all felt too similar well-nigh like the same words being recycled.

Your Soul is a River comprises poems near dearest, loss, grief, and heartbreak—about all the things y'all experience in life, in curt. It is nearly the journey of healing from trauma and condign whole over again. But almost importantly, information technology is about remembering to love yourself, above all.

Where some poems fabricated me pause and reverberate on them, others immediately felt repetitive, because the same metaphors had already been used repeatedly, though slightly differently.

Still, aesthetically pleasing books with lovely prose are always a welcome addition to my bookshelf.

Nikita Gill'due south poems are profound and compelling. I was able to connect on most of the poems and I really enjoyed it! Gosh, some of information technology struck my middle. The Sound of Heartbreak

It is eerily terrifying that there is no sound when a heart breaks.
Automobile accidents end with a bang, falling ends with a thud, even writing makes the scratching sound of pencil against newspaper. But the sound of a centre breaking is completely silent. Almost as though no one, non fifty-fifty the universe itself could create a sound for such destruction. Almost as though silence is the only way the universe could pay its respect to the sound of a heart falling autonomously.

In this volume I realized and so many truths. I found myself among these pages, and at the end I felt refreshed. Renewed.

"The stars do non bring people back. No matter how much you miss them or need them. No one tells you that hope can sometimes be a dead thing. Just like no 1 ever tells you that you are wishing upon dead stars."

I was told that I was besides hopeful, once. That was hard for me to understand because without promise, what do you accept? What do you concord onto?
Now I know...sometimes that

In this book I realized so many truths. I institute myself among these pages, and at the end I felt refreshed. Renewed.

I was told that I was too hopeful, one time. That was difficult for me to understand considering without hope, what do you have? What do y'all concur onto?

I idea Your Soul is a River was just "okay." Information technology wasn't horrible, but I went into it expecting to take my heed blown, and that moment of epiphany but never came.

In that location were a couple of poems that I actually liked, like this one:

I savor Nikita Gill's writing and respect her arts and crafts. Your Soul is a River is a lovely poetry collection of survival and healing.
Information technology reminds us of our place in nature, amongst the stars, with the ocean roaring through u.s.a..

Though I do feel I take outgrown the heartbreak side of the poetry, this had more diverseness than other modernistic collections I've read, and I feel the strength and healing of it could be applied to diverse traumas (heartbreak, but also medical, loss, etc.). I also appreciated the ocean and moon love.
I have multiple passages highlighted for time to come rereads.

Recommended, but my favorite Nikita Gill volume is nevertheless Tearing Fairytales, so read that if you haven't!

I felt a lot of this book to exist repetitive. There were a couple of poems in here that I really enjoyed, and a lot of great one-liners, but I didn't really care for most of these. Not to say y'all won't like this though. If you lot're a fan of Milk and Love— definitely give this book a try, because it gives off a very similar vibe!!!
